Dear Members,

Following the recent nomination process and the recommendation of the Nominations Committee (NomCo), the Board is pleased to announce that Jack Hillier has been invited to serve as the next Vice-Captain for the 2025/26 season, a role he has graciously accepted.

Jack will formally assume his Vice-Captain duties at the End of Season Party on Saturday 18th October.

The Board and NomCo are delighted with Jack’s appointment. The management team joins them in looking forward to supporting both Paul and Jack in delivering an exceptional year of golf and camaraderie for our Club.

“I just wanted to say how excited and honoured I am to have been invited to serve as Vice-Captain to Paul Weston during his upcoming tenure as Captain.

I first visited The Wisley as a guest in 2017 and was absolutely blown away by the place. I couldn’t believe that such a special club was right on my doorstep—just ten minutes from home. After 18 joyful holes (and probably close to 100 shots), I remember sitting on the terrace and deciding there and then that I had to become a member of this incredible club—and try to learn how to play golf properly!

I left that day with a mission: to push myself at work and do everything I could to make that dream a reality. It may have taken a little longer than I hoped thanks to a wedding and the arrival of our first daughter, but I finally joined The Wisley in January 2020.

I remember feeling a little nervous and out of my depth in those first few weeks, but both the members and staff made me feel incredibly welcome. That sense of belonging was instant and so refreshing. My only regret is not discovering the club sooner.

Since then, I’ve become a self-confessed golf addict. I absolutely love everything about The Wisley and what it stands for. I’ve made amazing friendships with both members and staff and built memories I’ll always cherish. It was a dream to become a member, and now to be asked to be Vice-Captain and eventually Captain means so much to me and my family: my wife Rachael and our three girls, Nancy, Jessie and Minnie.

Being asked to take on this role only further reinforces to me that the club is committed to its future and to delivering its vision of being modern and progressive.

I think we can all agree that The Wisley is in a fantastic place right now, and I will give everything I have to support Paul during his captaincy and hopefully learn a thing or two to carry forward proudly into the following year.” ~ Jack Hillier
