We would like to bring to the attention of all our golfers that there has been an increase in tick bites at the Club recently, we have therefore furnished the Club first aiders with Tick Tweezers and would ask that you do check your legs on return to the Clubhouse. To remove, grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible with the tweezers, taking care to ensure the whole tick is removed, then clean the bite with antiseptic or soap and water.
If you do sustain a tick bite and experience any of the following, it is important to seek medical attention, a bull’s-eye skin rash surrounding bite area, headaches, muscle and joint pain, a fever and fatigue.
