If you have visited the Club recently, you may have noticed that the access road hedge is looking somewhat fluffy, particularly considering the ideal weather conditions we have received for vigorous growth, and wondered why we have not addressed this to our usual high standard.
This is due to there being a change in legislation this year with regards to hedge and tree cutting, more specifically when adjacent to farmland, and we are no longer permitted to cut between 1st March to 31st August. This is to protect the natural habitat for birds and wildlife that may be nesting and raising young.
If you would like to learn more about these changes and how they affect where you live, click here.
In the interests of safety along the access road, a gentle reminder to drive at the speed limit and be vigilant to staff who may be working along the road, and members of public who may be using the footpath that crosses close to the main gates.
