After fourteen months of refurbishment, The Garden finally reopened for play this past Saturday. Members gathered at midday on the Driving Range for refreshments before eagerly making their way on to The Mill & The Garden for an 18-hole Team Stableford Competition and an Individual Competition over The Garden. Play was affected by a thirty-minute suspension due to lightning and ongoing rain throughout the day. But it did not stop members from enjoying the various on-course activities such as skill challenges and post-round fun on the Whack-a-Mole, Tombola, and Pitchburst with the Club Captain!

Both competitions were closely contested with winners being decided by Countback. In the Team Stableford event – James Absalom, Simon Nash, Matthew Nunn, and Harry Pope win with 79 points, thanks to their second nine score of 43 points over The Garden. In second place we have the team of Peter Hockless, Bo Zethraeus, Barry Russell, and Sally Smith – also with 79 points but 40 points on The Garden.

In the Individual Stableford competition held over The Garden, a three-way tie for first place saw Kevin Chatwell claim victory on countback with 21 points total and 17 points on the final six holes. In second place, Sally Smith with 14 points and finally, Jungwook Seo in third place with 13 points on her final six holes.

A variety of prizes were also won for those who participated in the on-course Skills Challenges.
