Concorde Knockout Final
Thursday 9th October– Church & Mill
The final knockout result of the season saw the Malcolm Wager & David Gu take on Philip Gregory & Derek Love take on The Church & The Mill for final of the Concorde Trophy, with calm but overcast conditions offering a fair yet testing challenge. The day produced a closely fought match, full of momentum shifts and quality golf throughout.
The pairing of Malcolm Wager & David Gu made the early statement, building a commanding 3up advantage on the front nine thanks to composed iron play and reliable putting. Their rhythm continued through the turn as they extended their lead to four up with four to play, applying constant pressure on their opponents.
However, Philip Gregory & Derek Love showed real resilience, clawing back two holes to keep the match alive heading down the stretch. A crucial putt on the 17th narrowly missed the edge, allowing Wager and Gu to close out a 2 & 1 victory, a deserved result after a strong display of teamwork and steady golf from start to finish.

With just one event remaining in the 2025 season, the Rank List battle remains finely poised. Derek Love moves back into the top spot on 1907.88 points, reclaiming the lead from Michael Chard, who now trails by 95.54 points.
Behind them, Paul Weston climbs into third on 1650.94 points, edging ahead of Alistair Brown and David Cope, both of whom remain within touching distance should tomorrow’s finale deliver a shake-up.

Super Seniors Knockout Final
Monday 6th October– Mill & Garden
Played in glorious autumn sunshine, the Super Seniors Final saw Helen Heasman claim a well-deserved victory, defeating Mike with a commanding 6&5 win.

Helen displayed exceptional consistency and course management throughout the match, keeping the ball in play and capitalising on key moments. Her putting was particularly sharp, and a superb up-and-down from the greenside bunker to a near pin on Mill 5 stood out as one of the highlights of the round.
Mike put up a strong fight and played steady golf, but despite giving himself plenty of chances, the putts just wouldn’t drop his way on the day.
Speaking after the match, Helen said:
“The match was played in good spirits on a glorious autumn day. Having been the runner-up in three previous match play series, I was thrilled to finally win, with the assistance of long-time Wisley caddie, Paul Mudie.”
Marlin Knockout Final
Tuesday 30th September – Garden & Church

The final of the Marlin Scratch Knockout brought together two of The Wisley’s finest single-figure players, Neil Sharpe and Thomas Coombes, for what proved to be an excellent contest played over The Garden & The Church. Both players displayed high-quality ball striking throughout in a match that was played in great spirit.
Sharpe made a strong start, setting the tone early by hitting his second shot on Garden 1 to 10 feet and holing the putt for birdie to take the opening hole. He maintained the momentum and was 4 up through the first five holes, before Coombes fought back with wins at Garden 7 and 8, cutting the deficit to two at the turn.
The quality continued across The Church, with both players trading birdies and precise approaches. Coombes birdied Church 3, but Sharpe responded immediately, hitting his second on Church 4 to 8 feet for birdie, and following up with another at Church 5, his approach finishing just four feet from the pin.
He sealed the match on Church 6 for a 4&3 victory, rounding off a performance that was a couple under par at the time of conclusion. The match was played in excellent spirit, reflecting the respect and sportsmanship between the finalists.
With this win, Neil Sharpe successfully defends his title, becoming back-to-back Marlin Scratch Knockout Champion, a fine achievement to cap off another strong season of golf at The Wisley.
Senior Fourball Knockout Final
Saturday 20th September – Mill & Garden
In blustery and testing conditions, Paul Inglis and Derek Cribb faced Marc Clancy and Trevor Johnson in the Senior Fourball Knockout Final. Teamwork proved decisive, with Paul producing a strong under-par front nine and Derek carrying the momentum on the back nine. Their combined play secured a well-earned 3&2 victory, claiming the title in challenging winds.
Senior Singles Knockout Final
Friday 19th September – Garden & Church
Doug King and Philip Donald produced a nail-biting final in the Senior Singles Knockout. Doug built a strong advantage and stood 3 up with just four holes remaining. Philip, however, wasn’t finished and mounted an incredible fightback, winning the 15th, 16th, and 17th to take the match down the last. On the 18th, Doug held his nerve to close out the win and claim the Senior Singles title.
Ladies Vase Knockout Final
Thursday 18th September – Church & Mill

Cindy Dawes has successfully defended her Ladies Vase title, winning the final for the second year in a row against Helen Heasman. It was a thrilling and tightly contested match, with momentum swinging both ways throughout the back nine. Cindy went 2 up at the turn, but Helen battled back with wins on the 10th, 14th, and 15th to keep the pressure on. Cindy regained the edge with a win on 16, before Helen holed a superb 10-foot putt on 17 to take it to the last. On 18, Helen found the bunker, allowing Cindy to close out the match and secure victory once again.
Cindy reflected: “A very tight match… to be fair neither of us deserved to lose.”
Arlington Knockout Final
Wednesday 10th September – Church & Mill

The final of the Arlington Singles Knockout was played on Wednesday 10th of September in testing conditions, with rain showers sweeping through for much of the day. Despite the weather, David Cope and Brian Hargie produced a competitive yet friendly contest, embodying the spirit of the event.
All square at the turn, the match remained finely balanced before David edged ahead on Mill 1. A strong run of wins on holes 3, 4, and 5 gave him control, and though Brian responded on Mill 6, a missed green on the 7th proved costly. David closed out the match to claim the Arlington Trophy.
Val’s Vase Knockout Final
Wednesday 20th August – Church & Mill
The final of Val’s Vase saw Carol James and Christine Williams take on Sue Noble and Siri Dal. In a well-fought match played in good spirit, Sue and Siri combined strongly to secure the win and lift this year’s trophy.
