Roadworks Update from Balfour Beatty

17 May 2024

Further to messages received concerning congestion on the A245, which we apologise for, we have met with Dr Ben Spencer MP, senior leaders from Surrey County Council and others to discuss options to ease the traffic in the area.

From this morning we have introduced a change to the Painshill junction.

Arrangements have been put in place for the A3 northbound off slip at Painshill (shown cross hatched in the diagram below) to be closed for a period of up to 10 weeks, initially to secure an improved eastbound traffic flow along the A245.

We will also be making changes to the sequencing of the traffic signals on all sides of the Painshill roundabout to favour the flow eastbound on the A245.

The diversion route will be to remain on the A3 to the A244 Oxshott junction, return south along the A3 and exit on the southbound off slip to continue on the A245 towards Cobham or Byfleet.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and if you need any further information regarding this or any of the works being undertaken on the project, please contact the National Highways Customer Contact Centre by phone or alternatively via email.

Kind regards,

Becky Carmichael-Wilson
Facilities, Projects & Estates Manager
