Following the communication in October 2025 and subsequent shrub and tree clearance works, there have been additional incidents in the vicinity of G1 green from those teeing off G4 and have included a warning shout, in turn requiring us to investigate further safety measures to improve line of sight whilst reminding players of the information given.
Key Safety Reminders and Actions
- Member Awareness: We kindly remind all players to clearly shout “Fore” whenever a ball is travelling towards another group or into an area where visibility is limited.
- Sightline Management: We will be carrying out sightline improvement works around G1 green during the scheduled October maintenance week
- Shared Responsibility: While the Club will continue to minimise risk through thoughtful course management, golf is played in a natural environment where certain hazards will always exist. Diligence, awareness and courtesy towards fellow golfers remain essential.
Member and Guest Conduct
Since our last communication, we have had the pleasure of welcoming several new members. We respectfully ask that all players demonstrate the highest level of courtesy and attention to safety by ensuring shots are only played when it is safe to do so and by always calling “Fore” when there is any doubt. As ever, members set the tone, particularly when hosting guests who may be unfamiliar with our course layout and safety expectations.
Ongoing Reporting and Risk Management
We also kindly encourage members to continue reporting any near misses, whether in this area or elsewhere on the course, so that we can proactively monitor and address potential risk zones as part of our ongoing safety management.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and for upholding the high standards of etiquette and safety that define The Wisley.
Kind regards,
David Shepherd
Chief Executive
