Following an inspirational presentation by a representative from Walton Firs we have awarded a grant to fund an Aeroball facility for the Walton Firs Activity Centre (WFAC). The WFAC is a local charity based in Cobham, which provides outdoor educational and training facilities for young people, including those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Walton Firs received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2020 and during 2022/23, their outdoor education programmes delivered 51,800 activity places and worked with 350 children’s, youth & education service organisations.

Aeroball is a cross between basketball and volleyball, but is also played on a small enclosed trampoline! It is a highly energetic activity which develops communication, leadership & teamwork skills, improves hand-to-eye coordination and physical balance.

This much anticipated facility was formally launched last Saturday (3rd June) and John Glendinning (Chief Executive of The Wisley & WFAC Trustee) & Andrew Wolton (a Wisley Foundation Trustee) were invited to cut the tape!
