Over the past 4 years, TWF has supported I Choose Freedom, a charity that provides refuge and a path to freedom for adult and child survivors of domestic abuse.
TWF made grants for The Welcome Pack Project which provides incoming survivors and their families, who often arrive with only what they are wearing, leaving behind everything they know, with a pack of everyday essential items. These packs have proved critical in allowing survivors to feel valued as they settle into the refuge and are taken with survivors after they leave refuge, helping to set them up in their new safe homes.
TWF also supported the Opening Doors Project, providing survivors with the essential life tools to get them back into the workforce as employment is something that survivors have to give up on fleeing to refuge. Securing employment means that survivors can move out of the refuge sooner and free up space for those in desperate need. Feedback on the success of the Opening Doors Project has been overwhelmingly positive from the survivors who participated.
Emma, CEO of ICF, is a survivor herself, and comments on the grants made by TWF: “The Foundation has been an invaluable supporter of ICF. The difference the contributions have made to the lives of the survivors is immeasurable. On behalf of us all at ICF and the survivors, we thank TWF, and the Members and Staff at The Wisley for their support.”
