A breezy afternoon provided the setting for this year’s Men v Ladies match played over The Mill & The Garden, with the rain respectfully waiting until the final couple of holes before making an appearance. Spirits remained high throughout, and it was the Ladies who came out swinging, securing a strong 3.5 – 1.5 victory.

Despite a valiant 1-up win from Paul Weston and Richard Robinson to get the Men on the board early, the Ladies responded with flair and force. Fiona Hockless and Susie Lintott delivered a commanding 6&4 win, while Christine Williams and Marie-Louise Riley edged a nail-biter with a 1-up victory. Sally Smith and Jane Botha-Michels sealed the deal with a confident 4&3 triumph. The final match between Sue Noble & Fran Thomas and Martin Collins & Ian Wilson ended all square. Fittingly, everyone left smiling.

Congratulations to the Ladies for a well-earned win, and commiserations to the Men, who are surely plotting their comeback already!
