A lovely but windy day was had for the 2022 McKenzie Cup played over The Church & The Mill courses. There was a full field out for the event with 96 members participating.
It was a closely contested event with two early scores from Matt Pinnock and Ian Grobler of 5 up and 6 up respectively looking like they’d be hard to beat as the conditions out on the course continued to offer a tough test of golf. Throughout the day scores continued to come in but the closest challenger for most of the day carded a 3 up score. However, in one of the final groups of the day an impressive round of 8 up (Gross 72) from Stephen Davies including 4 gross birdies meant that Stephen took 1st place resulting in Ian Grobler finishing in second place and Matt Pinnock in third.
Kevin Langston and Ashwani Mathur were closely behind on 3 up for a tie for fourth.
