A cool, sunny morning gradually gave way to warmer temperatures as 84 Members took to The Church & The Garden for the March Midweek Stableford. With calm conditions and firming surfaces, scoring opportunities were there for those able to build momentum early.
That proved particularly true for Jignesh Patel, who set the clubhouse target from the very first group of the day. His excellent round of 41 Stableford points was never bettered, securing a well-earned victory and laying down a marker from the outset.
Close behind, Ross Kemp, playing in the second group out, carded 40 points to take second place on countback thanks to a strong 20-point back nine. Hugh Keeble, from a mid-morning tee time, also posted 40 points but finished third after recording 19 points over his closing stretch.
Just behind the leading trio, Tom Davis, Jo Owens, and Peter Hockless each signed for 38 points to share fourth place, rounding off a competitive leaderboard.
