A thrilling afternoon unfolded during this year’s Johnson Jug, with bragging rights once again up for grabs between Members and Staff.

The Staff team came out fighting and, for a moment, it looked like this might finally be their year to take home the trophy. Wins from Tucker & White, du Plessis & Lister, and Gandy & McQuade applied early pressure, with Jordan & Ward closing strong to round off four staff victories.

But the Members responded with a series of nail-biters, edging out three crucial 1-up wins and a commanding 5&4 result from Bissix & Carruthers. Busch & Royle-Davies sealed the deal with a 6&4 win, tipping the balance to secure a 5–4 victory for the Members.

Club Captain Keith Fleming, sadly unable to attend, kindly donated two bottles of champagne. These were awarded to the best-performing pair from each team: Joshua Tucker & Alex White for the Staff and Len Busch & Rebecca Royle-Davies for the Members.

Another brilliant chapter in the Johnson Jug rivalry, one that’s sure to keep the Staff motivated for next year’s rematch.
