Dear Member,
The preparations for the start of the Garden refurbishment project continue this week with two things to make you aware of.
The first is the installation of temporary tree protection fencing around the oak trees on hole five tee. This fence is one of the pre-start planning conditions and must be in place, and inspected by council tree officers, with enough time to report acceptance back to the planners before we break ground. Its purpose is to stop construction work from damaging the large oak trees. There won’t be any access restrictions from four green to five tees, but it will be unsightly. It must be left in place once signed off so the fence will remain from now until project completion.
The second item is the removal of the mature trees on hole eight tee, which will start this week. The trees must be removed before the 1st of April when bird nesting season commences. We will be moving all tee markers forward to the red tee for safety reasons during the working week once the contractor starts. There will be noise and lots of vehicle movements to contend with, and we expect it to last between seven to ten working days.
I’d like to thank the members for accepting the visual and noise disruption over the next two weeks and beyond while we prepare to start the Garden project.
