Dear Members,
We are writing to advise you of a change to the way guest green fees will be charged at The Wisley.
Currently, members may invite guests to play at the Club, with guests able to pay their own green fee directly. Following a review with our tax advisors, it is important that we can clearly demonstrate that the guest green fee is an income raised from the members in compliance with our mutual trading status. Therefore, from 1 September 2026, all guest green fees will be charged directly to the hosting member’s Club account. Guests will no longer be able to pay their green fee directly to the Club.
This change will also bring golf into line with our existing Food & Beverage policy, where expenditure associated with guests is charged through the hosting member’s account.
There is no change to members’ ability to invite guests or to the current guest green fee. The change relates solely to how the fee is paid and ensures that our arrangements properly reflect the guest green fee as a benefit of membership and are consistent with how we operate as a private members’ club.
We appreciate members’ understanding and co-operation with this change.
Kind regards,
David Shepherd
Chief Executive
