Incoming Captain Keith Fleming kicked off his year in style with the traditional drive-in, attempting to hit the green on Church 3 from the Clubhouse Terrace. With a stiff breeze blowing directly into his face, it was a tough ask, but the effort was met with cheers and good humour from the gathered members.
Following breakfast, the Shotgun start got underway at 09:45, with 21 teams taking on The Garden & The Church. The setup featured two tricky pins on Garden 3 and Church 7, as well as two forward tees on Garden 6 and Church 5 to add some fun to the day. Each team also drew a hole at registration to double their points on that hole, adding a strategic twist to the competition.
The weather held sunny throughout the round, with showers only beginning as players made their way in for the post-golf lunch, rounding off a fantastic day of golf and camaraderie.
Our winning team with 60 points was Alistair Brown, Hakan Erixon, John Davis, and Siri Dal.

In second place, following countback with 30 points on the back nine, was the team of Ashwani Mathur, Len Busch, Robert Crompton, and Toshiko Koyama-Hall with 57 points.
We then had a four-way tie for third place on 57 points,
-
Tim Green, Paul Tunnacliffe, Mark Savage, and Iain Everingham with 28 points on the back nine.
-
Colin Braid, Philip Gregory, Robin Choudhury, and Sameer Arora with 27 points on the back nine.
-
Peter Gray, Iqbal Dhanji, Mo Carruthers, and Vicky Fairweather with 27 points on the back nine.
-
Max Jordan, Jon Austen, Jo Owens, and Julia Choudhury with 27 points on the back nine.
A great start to Captain Keith’s year and a fantastic day enjoyed by all.
