Autumn Maintenance & Range Closure Plan

1 October 2026

We are now fast approaching our end-of-season maintenance programme when we prepare the courses for whatever the winter decides to throw at us. This happens in the form of three, five-day closures, one for each course, and a two-day closure of the range tee and outfield. The type of work and duration of closures are broadly consistent with previous years.

The key dates are:

  • Week commencing 5 October: Church Course closed Monday – Friday
  • Week commencing 12 October: Mill Course closed Monday – Friday
  • Week commencing 19 October: Garden Course closed Monday – Friday
  • Monday 12 & Wednesday 14 October: Range tee and outfield closed from 6am to 2pm

The maintenance programme will include aeration across greens, tees, approaches, fairways and playing roughs.

Importantly, there will be no hollow coring this autumn. The summer maintenance programme has allowed us to take a less invasive approach, which should mean considerably quicker recovery.

We will also carry out some final overseeding in any areas that remain thin or have not yet achieved the level of grass coverage we are looking for.

Following the challenges experienced this summer, the programme has been carefully planned to complete the necessary work while minimising further disruption and supporting a prompt recovery.
