After what had felt like an endless stretch of scorching summer heat, 96 members were treated to one of the “cooler” days in recent months on Saturday, with temperatures finally dipping below 30°C across The Mill & The Garden. The conditions made for comfortable scoring, and the field took full advantage with some fine performances throughout.
Monthly Medal
Chih Liu claimed the August Monthly Medal title with a superb five-under-par net 67, in a round that had everything. His playing partners played a key role in supporting him through the day, and their encouragement proved particularly timely when a double bogey on the 17th briefly threatened to bring the chasing pack back into contention. Liu responded in the best possible way, finishing with a gross birdie on the 18th to seal a well-deserved and memorable victory.

Daryl Cook and Ping Zhang both finished at three under par net (69), with countback required to separate them. Cook claimed second place on a back nine of net 33, with Zhang third on net 36.5 in what was a fine performance from both players.
Low Gross
Peter Harrison and Benjamin Roth shared the Low Gross title, both carding six over par (78) in a tie. Christopher Rees finished one stroke back in third on seven over par (79).
Rank List
The Rank List has a new leader. It is the tightest margin at the top of the Rank List all season, just 6.61 points separating the two with the business end of the year approaching.
Peter Gray drops to third on 1,385.47 points, 133.98 behind the lead, with Tim Green fourth on 1,351.11 points. Benjamin Roth rounds out the top five on 1,265.31 points.
