Over £102,000 donated in 2025 for the benefit of our local communities
Now, in its 17th year, The Wisley Foundation (“TWF”), the Club’s charitable arm, was able to make donations in 2025 totalling over £100,000 for the benefit of our local communities.
We are eternally grateful to all Members and Staff of The Wisley who, through events such as the Charity Team Challenge, The Doublet, Captain’s Day and the Easter & Christmas Gives, as well as direct donations, contributed over £102,000 to the Foundation in 2025. Thank you!
In 2025, TWF made donations to 14 charities, with a pipeline of more charities to benefit from our upcoming events in 2026. Nevertheless, we welcome suggestions for deserving charities from Members and Staff. A list of the charities we supported since we last reported to you is shown below.
The charities supported in the second half of 2025:
- The Swan Sanctuary, a charity dedicated to the wellbeing of swans and wildfowl;
- Stripey Stork, making a pledge to support The Big Give campaign, ‘Warmth in every Bundle’ aimed to meet the increased need for warm, safe places to sleep for children experiencing poverty in Surrey and Croydon;
- Topic of Cancer, with a grant to purchase specific fitness and training equipment to aid research focussed on optimising pre-habilitation exercise to enhance tumour outcomes in advanced oesophageal cancer;
- Momentum Children’s Charity, with support for respite boat trips, through Momentum’s ‘Moments on the River’ programme, to many families whose lives have been turned upside down by serious illness or bereavement.
- Pimlico Opera, Primary Robins; with a grant towards the cost of a summer concert for disadvantaged children on the stage of the Grange Park Opera theatre;
- On-Course Foundation, providing funding for a golf programme supporting wounded, injured and sick Service personnel and veterans;
- Fair Start, funding towards the furnishing, stocking, decorating and setting up of a library in a local primary school suffering book poverty; and
- The Loveworks Food Bank.
Additionally, we have been happy to support Members who have undertaken their own charitable exploits.
Our regular spotlight on the charities we support will continue in 2026 to ensure close Member engagement with the work of TWF. To read our Monthly Charity Spotlights, click here!
