Over £90,000 donated in 2024 for the benefit of our local communities
Now, in its 16th year, The Wisley Foundation (“TWF”), the Club’s charitable arm, was able to make donations in 2024 totalling over £90,000 for the benefit of our local communities.
We are eternally grateful to all Members and Staff of The Wisley who, through events such as the Charity Team Challenge, The Doublet, the Garden Party and the Easter and Christmas Gives, as well as direct donations, contributed over £100,000 to the Foundation in 2024. Thank you!
In 2024, TWF made donations to 12 charities, with a pipeline of more charities to benefit from our upcoming events in 2025. Nevertheless, we welcome suggestions for deserving charities from Members and Staff. A list of the charities we supported since we last reported to you is shown below.
Our regular spotlight on the charities we support will continue in 2025. Overall, our plan is to communicate more frequently with you ensuring close Member engagement with the work of TWF.
The charities supported in the second half of 2024:
- Halow, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities on their journey into and through adult life, where we provided funding for the Fit Club and Sports Group;
- Parity for Disability, with the purchase of an Acheeva therapy chair considered invaluable in providing support for people with profound and multiple disabilities;
- Stripey Stork, making a pledge to support The Big Give campaign, aimed to meet the increased need for warm, safe places to sleep for children experiencing poverty in Surrey and Croydon;
- Emma’s Bubble Trust, to re-fit a kitchen at the charity’s flat used to support teenagers being treated for cancer at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton;
- GASP Motor Project, funding 3 motorbikes to develop the education, practical skills and personal attributes of vulnerable youngsters, using motor mechanics and engineering;
- The Big Leaf Foundation, funding a Sports for Connection programme for displaced young people in Surrey; and
- The Loveworks Food Bank.
Additionally, we have been delighted to support Members and Staff who have undertaken their own charitable exploits.
