This year we introduced a 55 and over scratch section to keep more of the field invested in the scratch scores over the full weekend. At the end of the weekend there was a three way tie for first place with Peter Gray, Paul Hammond and Philip Jansen all producing a two day total of 160 (16 over par). We look forward to developing this section of the event in years to come.
Finally, we run a separate Sunday Nett competition during this event with Philip Jansen coming out on top of the leaderboard with a score of 77(Net 69) including an impressive front nine of gross 37 (+1) over The Church. Dean Sayers comes in second place with a Net 71 with Ross Kemp and Roger Yates tied in third on Net 72.
Congratulations to Thomas Greenhalgh and Dean Sayers on winning the Spring Scratch Medal and Chairman’s Bowl. We look forward to seeing all competitors at the Autumn Scratch Medal and President’s Putter where the Montgomery Cup is on the line for the best 72 hole gross over the two events.
