Dear Members,
You will have seen the recent email communication setting out the proposed new governance structure. Further details on governance changes that will require shareholder approval at the AGM will be communicated in the coming weeks.
One of the key steps is that the Board has agreed to establish a Nominations Committee (NomCo) to enhance the identification and presentation of potential Directors and future Captains to members. NomCo will act independently of the Board to support the objective of ensuring that members are consistently well served through Directors and Captains who are appropriately skilled and who are representative of the club. It is important to note that the NomCo process in no way prevents any potential Director candidates being separately proposed under the terms of the Articles of the club.
NomCo will be chaired by the Chair of the Board, has one other Director and three shareholders of the club who are not Directors. We are pleased to announce that the first NomCo will be made up by Michael Elysee, Tom O’Byrne, John Langston, Cindy Dawes and Chris Ciauri.
We are sure that all members will agree that this is a positive step forward. We would like to encourage all members to engage with the members of NomCo to suggest potential Directors or future Captains of the club, or indeed to put themselves forward.
Please contact Michael Elysee if you need any more information.
Kind regards,
John Glendinning
Chief Executive
