A fog delay of one hour and fifty minutes pushed back the start of proceedings on Tuesday, but 63 members eventually made their way onto The Mill & The Garden for the penultimate Rank List qualifying event of the season. With the title race finely poised, the stakes could hardly have been higher.

Darren Wills produced the round of the day when it mattered most, carding a net 68, four under par, to claim the title by a single shot and make a decisive statement in the Rank List title race.
Ross Kemp finished in second place on net 69, three under par, with Chih Liu and Tim Green both finishing on net 70 behind him. Liu claimed third on countback, his back six of 22.4 edging out Green’s 22.7 after both players matched each other exactly on the back nine with 35.5.
Low Gross
Tim Green claimed the Low Gross title with a fine one under par 71, the only player in the field to finish under par gross on the day a true showing of golfing skill. Ian Nickoll finished second on two over par (74), with Ross Kemp third on three over (75), completing a strong day for Kemp across both competitions.
Rank List
Darren Wills’ victory, worth 350 points, has transformed the Rank List picture with just two events remaining. Wills moves from fourth to first on 1,989.5 points, opening up a lead of 178.33 points over Peter Gray, who drops to second on 1,811.17 points having not added to his tally this week.
Alistair Brown is third on 1,777.39 points, 212.11 behind Wills, with Neil Sharpe fourth on 1,758 points and Daryl Cook fifth on 1,683.66 points after adding 46.38 on the day.
The Arlington Final between Andrew Wolton and Cary Dawes takes place tomorrow, with 650 points available to the winner.
Saturday’s season-closing Tournament of Champions and October Monthly Medal then brings the curtain down on the 2026 Rank List. Flag carriers will compete for Grade 1 points in line with the Chairman’s Bowl and President’s Putter, while non-flag carriers will earn points on the Grade 2 tier equivalent to a standard Monthly Medal. With so much still to play for, the final act of the season promises to be a memorable one.
