Fifty-two members took to The Church & The Mill on a lovely sunny day for the Edward’s Cup, competing in mixed pairs Stableford. Ideal conditions made for an enjoyable day’s golf and some fine partnerships flourished across both layouts.
Peter Gray and Helen Heasman claimed the Edward’s Cup title with an impressive 44 Stableford points, reclaiming the crown they first won together in 2024. Having seen Charlie Lesser and Sue Noble take the honours in 2025, Gray and Heasman returned with a point to prove and delivered emphatically.

Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of their round was the consistency with which they achieved it. Not a single hole was dropped all day, with each player contributing on nine holes apiece, sharing the scoring perfectly evenly throughout. A polished and composed performance from start to finish, and one that left no doubt about the worthy champions.
Martin Williams and Carol James finished just one point back on 43 to take second place. Carol got the partnership off to a flying start, scoring on the first five holes, before Martin took over for the following four. The pair then settled into a more shared rhythm on the back nine, and the partnership’s ability to adapt and support one another throughout made for a well-deserved podium finish.
Hyunho Sohn and Jungwook Seo rounded out the top three with 42 points, a fine team effort built on evenly shared scoring across the round. A dropped hole on the last prevented what might have been an even stronger finish, but third place on such a competitive day is a commendable result.
