A cold and grey start greeted members on medal day, though the morning gloom eventually gave way to sunshine as the round progressed. The improving conditions came with a sting in the tail however, as winds picked up through the afternoon to make life increasingly difficult for the later groups. Across The Mill & The Garden, 84 members competed in what proved to be one of the more dramatic medal finishes of the season.
Mark Bissix looked to have done enough. Coming in from one of the earlier groups with a net 70, two under par, the title appeared to be his. The field still had players out on the course, among them Tim Green in the second to last group and Peta-Louise Jeffery in the very last, both navigating the increasingly breezy afternoon conditions.

Green had other ideas. The Rank List leader returned a quite exceptional net 66, six under par, to sweep past Bissix and take the title with two shots to spare. Hot on his heels was Jeffery, who closed out her round with a net 68, four under par, to claim second place and push Bissix back to third on countback. Colin Braid and Brian Stopp also finished on net 70, with Braid and Stopp tied on fourth .
Low Gross
Green’s day was complete with the Low Gross title as well, his two under par gross 70 the standout score of the field. Shekhar Mathur finished second on four over par (76) with Benjamin Roth third on five over (77).
Rank List
Tim Green’s victory has sent him clear at the top of the Rank List. His 350 points from the medal win take his total to 1,107.17 from six events, an extraordinary lead over the chasing pack.
Daryl Cook remains second on 695.45 points, now 411.72 behind Green having added nothing this week. Paul Copson climbs from seventh to third on 680.1 points after earning 126.33 points, with Nick Keher dropping to fourth on 635 points and Michael Chard moving up to fifth on 607.6 points following 35 points on the day.
