Eighteen ladies across nine teams took to The Garden & The Church on Wednesday for Pammy’s Plate, facing one of the more demanding days of the season. The wind was relentless, seemingly blowing into the face of players no matter which direction they turned, and firm surfaces added a further test to an already challenging round. Scoring under those conditions was no small feat.
The format combined Greensomes on the front nine with Aggregate on the back nine, the latter being Pammy’s own favourite format, and one that has always given the competition its distinctive character.

Bohye Kim and Jooyoung Kim rose to the challenge admirably, posting 21 points in the Greensomes format on the front nine and following it up with a strong 33 on the back nine for a winning total of 54 points. It was a result that will have felt a long time coming for both players. Bohye had finished second in the same competition last year, while Jooyoung had placed fourth, and together they went one better in fine style. A thoroughly well-rounded performance and a richly deserved victory.
Caroline Brodie and Siri Dal took second place with 17 points on the front nine and 31 on the back, finishing on 48 points in total. Masumi Dobson and Helen Heasman claimed third, their round telling a different story; 22 points in the Greensomes section showed real quality on the front nine, with 23 on the back bringing their total to 45 points.
A fine day’s competition despite the testing conditions. Congratulations to Bohye Kim and Jooyoung Kim on taking home Pammy’s Plate.
