The Wisley Putter Returns
Following a successful debut last year, The Wisley Putter returns for 2026 and we are looking forward to seeing even more members take part this time around.
Launched alongside the opening of the new Academy Putting Green, The Wisley Putter is one of the most accessible events in the competition calendar. No tee times, no handicap pressure, no complicated format. Just you, a putter, and nine holes on the Academy Putting Green.
How It Works
During the qualifying period, simply visit the Academy Putting Green on any day between 18th and 31st May, between 9:00am and 3:00pm. A member of the Golf Operations Team will be there to welcome you, hand you a scorecard, and record your score when you finish. There are no pre-booked slots. Come when it suits you.
Your qualifying score is the total number of putts taken over the 9-hole course, stroke play with no handicap allowance. The top 30 scores from the qualifying period will progress to the Final on Sunday 7th June, seeded into six flights competing in bracket knockout play on the Academy Putting Green, with the six flight winners meeting in a Shoot Out final to determine the overall Wisley Putter champion.
Refreshments will be provided throughout Final Day, and prizes will be announced immediately after the conclusion of play.

Defending Champions: Pre-Registration for Club Honour Board Competitions
We are pleased to confirm that defending champions of Club Honour Board competitions will be offered the opportunity to pre-register ahead of general entries opening, giving every champion the chance to return and defend their title.
This is something we are proud to offer as a mark of recognition for those whose names sit on the Honour Board, and we want to ensure that no defending champion misses out on the opportunity to compete simply because entries filled quickly.
Please Note: Pairs Competitions
For Honour Board competitions played in pairs, pre-registration is available exclusively to the defending pair as they were constituted when they won the title. Both players must register together as the same partnership to qualify for pre-registration. If either player is unable to compete, or if the pair wishes to enter with different partners, they will need to register as normal when general entries open. The pre-registration benefit applies to the partnership, not to individual players within it.
Defending champions will be contacted directly by the Competitions Department ahead of entries opening with details of how to confirm their place. If you believe you are a defending champion of a Club Honour Board competition and have not heard from us, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards,
Mark Nicholas
Competitions Manager
