After less than ideal conditions in the weeks leading up to the event, bright winter sunshine welcomed 54 Members to The Garden & The Church for this year’s Valentine’s Greensomes. Although the skies were clear, the air remained distinctly chilly, adding an extra test to the day’s play.

It was Mark Bissix & Sue Noble who set the standard, combining superbly to post an outstanding 43 points and take victory. Their consistent play proved decisive in a format that rewards teamwork and course management.

Gordon Brodie & Caroline Brodie finished second with a strong 40 points, while a tie for third on 37 points required countback to separate the remaining places. Tom O’Byrne & Christine Williams secured third thanks to 18 points on the Church, narrowly besting Peter Hockless & Fiona Hockless, who recorded 16 points over the closing stretch to finish fourth.

Following play, Members gathered to enjoy a fabulous lunch, where the winners were announced and another well-supported Valentines competition was brought to a fitting close.

A reminder that registration for the Invitation Shoot Out Ballot is open until Friday 27th February. Don’t forget to put your name in for one of The Wisley’s most anticipated events!
