A great couple of days were had for the Spring Scratch Medal and Chairman’s Bowl with the sun shining and the course in great condition.
An exciting first day saw Thomas Greenhalgh 70 (-2) lead the Spring Scratch Medal closely followed by Jack Hillier 73 (+1) and Rob Whittick 75 (+3). Rob Whittick’s fine nett score of 69 placed him at the top of the nett leaderboard for the Chairman’s Bowl.
Day two saw Thomas Greenhalgh’s fine first day form continue with a level par front nine further extending his lead. This lead was maintained throughout the back nine as he closed confidently with five straight pars to produce a two round total of 144. In second place with a two round total of 156 was Aaron Clarke. The Chairman’s Bowl saw many changes from day one but it was consistency that prevailed with Paul Weston’s nett 73/73 rounds for a 146 nett total coming out on top and closely followed by Aaron Clarke with a 148 nett total.
Congratulations to Thomas Greenhalgh and Paul Weston on winning the Spring Scratch Medal and Chairman’s Bowl. We look forward to seeing all compeititors at the Autumn Scratch Medal and President’s Putter where the Montgomery Cup is on the line for the best 72 hole gross over the two events.
After this weekend Iqbal Dhanji continues to remain in first place on the Rank List, 121.28 points ahead of Peter Gray. Ali Brown moves up one position into third 206.81 points behind Iqbal, and with this win Paul Weston jumps up to fourth on the, having previously been at 53rd place.
